Debby Soelberg
Debby graduated from Rim of the World High School in Lake Arrowhead, California. Attended San Bernardino Valley College, Costa Mesa Community College, and obtained my HR Certification from CSULB. Owned my own restaurants and discos (yes, I’m that old), and worked as Human Resources Manager for a variety of businesses, both in Southern California and Idaho. I retired from the Idaho Falls Home Depot in 2018 and have enjoyed a more leisurely lifestyle, in spite of, or perhaps because of, the Pandemic.
My first theatrical experience was at a young age in the play Santa Claus and Little Nell (I was Little Nell). After that it was Anne Frank in High School. Then, as a young adult, several years of experience in community theater (The Crashline Players) in my hometown of Crestline, California and a few years later, my daughter and I were in a play together in Hemet, California. My involvement with ARTI came in 2019 when I played the axe-wielding Sedalia in Always a Bridesmaid. Since then, I’ve been involved with ARTI by hosing at several productions and most recently the newest member of the Board of Directors for ARTI, a position I am thrilled and honored to hold.
I enjoy knitting, reading, sewing and puttering around the house. I have a 13-year-old Border Collie who I inherited from my daughter 13 years ago, and three wonderful children; a professional dance instructor, a registered nurse and a web-designer guru. My son, Casey Wayne, is a veteran of ARTI productions and I love being able to “direct” him in this production of CLUE (he rarely takes my direction outside of the theater). 😊
It has been so much fun to be able to work with my son and his girlfriend, Megan Gazda (the Director of CLUE) and all the cast members. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each one of them and thank all of them for the opportunity to grow in the ARTI family. It’s been a pleasure!
